Recently, there have been many new restaurants opening in Bayan Baru. And Chubi Kitchen is one of them. I have attempted dining at this restaurant twice, but every time there was a reason I couldn't. Either there was no parking space, or no place in the restaurant to sit. So, back in August, I finally had a chance to sample this restaurant's food during lunch.

It's a nice, homely place. Obviously newly opened, judging from the bouquet of flowers still present on the counter (as in pic)

I also like the simple decorations that create a comfortable dining area in the restaurant, like this wall art.
Here's the menu. They actually offer local Chinese cuisine.

Here's what we ordered.
Claypot chicken - I think it was '3 cups chicken' 三杯鸡 - direct translation :) It's basically a chicken dish cooked/marinated with 3 different key ingredients: sesame oil, Chinese rice wine, and soy sauce.
Next-up, we ordered sweet & sour Fish fillet
This was yummeh.. partly because I like fried-stuff... and this was actually fried fish with vege and a nice sweet & sour sauce :)
Lastly, vegetables...
All-in-all, this was your usual, simple Chinese restaurant... nothing to crow about, but still a convenient choice for those who live nearby and what a break from the kitchen to be served with home cooked local Chinese food.
