I think I know what love is?

I think I know what love is?... but i still end this statement with a (?)

Something happened to me or rather someone's gestures towards me made me think. I actually felt something. And it reminded me of having this feeling before. That was in 2007. (i side track... sorry... let me start again)

I think I know what love is... or what it means to love someone. It means to want to protect that someone or try your best to constantly make that someone happy. (not in a give-laughing-gas-nitric oxide kinda way)

It's different when you watch it happen between two people and when you are the actual person receiving that 'love'. (okay, i feel gross using the word 'love' here.. for obvious reasons that is taboo....so i'll substitute with 'kindness')

I was surprised that subject 6 was so open about it. I mean, there were people withnessing the moment, and yet he did it. That made the other people start teasing even more. I was caught dumb-founded. And Embarressed!! If i didn't have my surgical mask on, people probably would have seen me blush. I honestly, I didn't want to do it either... and luckily for me, he did me a favour by insisting on not giving me that task.

Alas, after much teasing, I couldn't stand it anymore (the teasing)... and eventually took up that task (just to shut the mouth of the idiot who was teasing). Now, both my arms and hands are all sore. ~muscle ache~

this whole "protecting me" gesture has reminded  me of the 2007 incident... of which i really thought i'd forgotten for good... then this thing happened and brought back memories... and that 'feeling'

I suppose subject 6 just felt that he was protecting me AS A SISTER/COLLEGUE... (i really really hope so!) and not as something else coz he knows i know that he's married.

Camu-camu & Acerola Cherry - Love the scent!

My absolute favourite thing right now is the Nivea Extra whitening cell repair protect body cream. Not only did i get the body lotion, I also got myself the cream version after enjoying the fresh fragrance of the Camu Camu and Acerola Cherry!

I think for  me, the best thing Nivea did is introduce this fragrance Camu-camu and Acerola Cherry! I cannot tell you how in love i am with this scent! Wished they could come out with a fragrance/perfuse on its own... it would probably sell millions

P.S. I'm not endorsed by Nivea to say such things... on second thoughts, maybe I should get paid for saying such nice things about Nivea... oh, well, honesty's the best policy ")

Exploring Gurney Paragon (Part 3) - Wong Kok Char Chan Teng

The night was getting late and we wanted to head to some place nearby to grab dinner after work. Yes, we chose Gurney Paragon...

And this time, we tried yet another newly opened restaurant called Wong Kok Char Chan Teng,

Thus, completing - My almost all 3 meals at Gurney Paragon on Friday... hahaha (Part 1, Part 2)

This place offers similar choice of food variety as the likes Kim Gary (at Gurney Plaza) and Boston (e-Gate) , serving mainly Hongkie food.

The best part is their drinks menu. They even have a specially HUMONGOUS cup of milk tea for speciall occations!!! REally HUMouguous - trust me! It's like having a pail of milk tea with a straw... hahah

They even go to the extent of cooling your favourite milk tea in ice so as not to dilute the consistency of your drink. What a great idea - No more diluted drinks! (*woot*woot)

Exploring Gurney Paragon (Part 2) - Meet Fresh

We ended our lunch with DEsserTs! This is a continuation from part 1 here

Just next door to Goku Raku Ramen, we have a shop sellling traditional Taiwanese delights called Meet Fresh. They specialize in everything dessert, Taiwan style - hot, cold, ice blended.. you name it! Their menu just goes on and on... you'll be spoilt for choices...

And they have this special device which will vibrate and light-up when your order's ready - AWESOME or what! Super techno! You'll never miss an order again... (ok, i sound too cheesy right now - like doing a commercial - *slaps forehead*)
Techno savy device!
it's Halal too... so everyone can enjoy...

Our orders are-in!

The portions are big, very good for sharing! They're generous on the ingredients and makes the whole eating-dessert-experience all the more enjoyable.

If you're into Taiwanese desserts or just simply craving for something sweet, this is the place to be.

Exploring Gurney Paragon (Part 1) - Goku Raku Ramen

Visited Gurney Paragon twice today, both for lunch AND dinner. Yes, i must either love Gurney Paragon or have no place else to go to. Answer is, neither of the above... hehe. It's simply because it's near to my work place and i went with a different group for lunch and another for dinner....
(*justified smile)

I'll talk about dinner in a following post.

Since today was a friday and we had a long break for lunch on fridays, we decided to have lunch out. And a certain someone was keen to try-out this new Japanese restaurant at Gurney Paragon called Goku Raku Ramen. Seems that the place has been opened 2 months ago since December 2011.

The interior design is simple and gives you a feeling as though you've transported back into the '60s - note the rounded edges of the window to the kitchen, and arches on the ceiling. And coincidentally (..or not), Bee Gees music was playing in the background. Haha

They mainly have (like the name suggests) ramen noodles... The only difference between each different ramen is the soup flavour. Ingredient wise almost the same, safe for the egg that comes with Ultimate ramen.

And you are given a choice or small or large bowls of noodles.

Drinks came in large glasses - like the ones you drink beer in, and there's free refills!

Here's what we ordered:-
From the left top corner... Ultimate ramen, spicy ramen and Miso ramen

Here's the address if you wanna check this place out.

My Night Market aka Pasar Malam Haul

I haven't been to a pasar malam since the middle of last year. So i took the opportunity to visit one tonight.
On Saturdays, the night market at Sungai Dua is a popular one frequented by students and residents living in and around USM Penang campus.

Pasar malams are a usual sight here in Malaysia, where you can get cheap buys, but mostly imitation products. They can sell everything! From food tid-bits, toys, stationary, shoes, clothes, cakes to house hold items like plastic soap dishes, tooth brushes etc. They even sell electronics! (clocks, watches, lamps)

Amids the many many street stalls, I found this one stall selling phone covers. Knowing that my Samsung Galaxy Note was still new in the market, I was surprise but delighted to find them selling covers for my phone! (yippie)

And it came in this cool purple colour! Awesome or waht?! The best part is it only costs RM7

Bought some other girlie stuff too! RM5 only... for all 3 clips

Don't you just love living in Malaysia :)

Little Cottage - Cozy and inviting

I've been going to this restaurant called "Little Cottage Cafe" since i first discovered it in 2008/2009 (if i Remember correctly). It has since opened two outlets on the island. I frequent the Little Cottage 2 more than the original one due to parking constraints.

The one thing that's got me coming back each time is their lovely interior! Of course the food as well is the other main attraction. They're most popular for their set lunches :)

What I like about the menu is their chicken chop gravy....

Each set comes with soup of the day and bun roll with choice of tea or coffee and dessert. The dessert's usually a small cup of jelly/pudding of the day, hence the 5 set course....

Whether it's just for lunch or for a company function, this place offers food at affordable prices

Happy Valentine's Day 2012

I'm technically oncall today - 14.2.2012, well, my call doesn't start until 8 am...
I took leave today to celebrate Valentine's Day, er, one day prior because of the above reason... being oncall..

So how did I spend my supposedly Valentine's day?
Having lunch at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort, that's how! :)

Earlier I had bought Groupon vouchers for Semi-Buffet lunch at the hotel.

From the top left hand corner: fish & chips; free flow salad, fruits and soup; beef lasagna; spaghetti arrabiata

The best was the spaghetti!!

But of it all, the view and scenery from where I was eating made my day :)

Eating beneath coconut trees... literally

It became too hot so we moved to another table... over looking the sea with sea breeze... aaahhhh!

Gaya's Beachside Bar & Restaurant

Thought i'd take a pic of the hotel itself :)
'My supposedly Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone  ~~  <3 ~~ 2012

陽光天使 Sunshine Angel - Taiwan Serial Drama

Just finished watching 陽光天使 (Yang Guang Tian Shi) or it's literal translation "Sunshine Angel" . It has been whole 22 episode romantic serial drama for me! Absolutely love love love the story line!

The main characters played by Wu Chun (from the popular band Farenheight) and Rainie Yang shared good chemistry between themselves making their characters believeable. In the serial, Wu Chun is Di Ya Xin 狄雅辛 a young, wealthy, good-looking and charming General manager of a beauty company. The character Di Ya Xin, probably owns all the 3Bs or 3Cs (or is it 4 now??) that most girls look for in a potential guy! Yes, the 3Bs being Brains, Billions, Bungalow... and the 3Cs being Car, Condo, Credit Card, Career.

And Rainie Yang is ever innocent-looking playing the character Yang Guang 陽光 who is half Chinese and half Japanese. Here, Rainie shows off her skills in speaking in fluent Japanese! (i as impressed!! really)

You get to see beautiful scenes of Okinawa and Shanghai...

I really enjoy the romantic notions and gestures these characters bring to the whole story. What with Valentines' Day around the corner, I couldn't help but fall in love with this Taiwan drama

Here's a trailer I found from Youtube:-

Maybe you'll get hooked on the show too!
By the way, 8TV will be airing the show on Malaysian TV starting 18th February 2012!!! WootWoot!

P.S Wu Chun looks damn good in the serial!! haha

Italiannies @ Gurney Paragon

Italiannies has finally opened in Penang! Ever since my Uni days in KL I, when I was first introduced to Italiannies by my close friend, I've been hoping for them to open one outlet in Penang....

Yes, yes, they finally came to their senses and did...at Gurney Paragon.

I'm been busy all this while and not wanting to get caught-up in the usual jam at Gurney drive (believe me, holiday or no holiday... gurney is always jammed with cars) I had been postponing visiting this newly opened restaurant since it opened this year.

At long last, I said it's time to have some dinner at Italiannies!

So, today's just under RM100 dinner was at Italiannies. We ordered 1 appetizer, and 2 main courses. Drinks were sky juice (hehe..) plus their complimentary bread to add to the stomach-stuffing agenda... hehaha...

The appetizer was their signature stuffed mushroom

One beef lasagna - to me it was different and interesting as it was served in a (what i assume to be) cast iron pot!

One shrimp & mushroom linguine... This was the BEST of the rest! So tasty and full of flavour!

You can imagine how packed the place was when I went that day...but nice interior work, don't you think? :)

Sushi Tei @ Gurney Plaza

Gurney Plaza has been undergoing alot of changes these past few months. Old shops are closing and new ones mushrooming.

This is especially so for restaurants! (Yay for me!)

One new restaurant that has opened its doors in Penang is Sushi Tei

It's another Japanese restaurant which I first ate-in in Singapore... yes, that was many years ago... and now it's finally available in Penang... *awesome

Like the other Japanses restaurants in Penang, they too have the sushi-on-a-conveyor-belt section to choose from.

And prefering the ala chart version, we ordered tepanyaki ramen, salmon and spicy ramen noodles! Oh, not forgetting the smooth and delicate chawanmushi.

For me I loved loved loved the soup for my spicy ramen noodles... okay i forgot the actual name of the dish... but it was so yummy!

Although the prices are abit more than the likes of Sushi King or Sakae Sushi, I suppose they offer alittle something different :)

Check this place out and find out for yourself! :)

EuroDeli in Penang

EuroDeli has opened its doors in Penang @ Gurney Plaza!

Like the name suggests, it's a deli but plus a bar... So it offers German food and beers, whiskey, cocktails ...etc.

I and a group of friends managed to get a try of the place today. We all gathered for dinner.

The place gave me a feel of old english bars@pubs. As we were there around 7.30pm, the in side was rather empty. Outside, you could see tables of people smoking and drinking...

Naturally, we chose to sit inside.

Here's how the interior looks like...

Getting down to the menu, well, we ordered quite alot! But I only managed to snap pics of a few of what we actually ordered.

Their speciality was the pork knuckle... and don't be fooled by the size.. when they say it's meant for sharing, you better believe them! I ordered half a knuckle, thinking it would be just nice for one... I was wrong! It was a big portion although only half!

Luckily I didn't order the whole knuckle!

This was something or a mixture of meats... pork meat that is... mixture of sausages

And this is a potato dish... er, forgot the actual name of it though.

Take a look at the dish at the far bottom... I liked this one! It's also a potato dish - fried together with bacon... simple but delish!
