I mum mum restaurant @ All Seasons, Farlim

I mum mum restaurant has finally opened an outlet at All seasons, Farlim.

They offer yummy Chinese noodle dishes...to my surprise, at quite reasonable prices. If I remember correctly, each noodle bow was about RM5 only... and the add-ons (ie ala charte) is probably less than that... super economical :)

Drinks we ordered: Chrysanthemum tea, chilled.
Dessert: Black jelly with lemon... the jelly was quite hard and chewy, unlike the usual.

Our orders were as such...

Beef noodles (dry)

Curry chicken with noodles

We added wanton soup
We felt that the noodles were particularly hard and chewy like their black grass jelly. Although we did specify to cook the noodles a little longer to make it softer... I guess the chef didn't get the memo. or rather, he ignored the memo altogether... (sigh)

Having said that, there wasn't any other thing wrong with the noodle dishes we had. I kinda enjoyed them... Just had to exercise my jaw more for the hard (probably half-cooked) noodles. Luckily, no indigestion...

Green Island Western Food @ The One, Bayan Baru

Green Island western food restaurant has been opened for a year now, with them celebrating their 1 year anniversary in October. I've been to this restaurant a number of times now, and have been wanting to blog about it ever since.

They are located in the row of shop houses in Bayan Baru called The One. It's a two-storey shop house serving western food. Their food is very affordable and they probably serve one of the cheapest drinks in town! (for a restaurant). And to top it all off, their service is super quick! Definitely three thumbs up! :)

Menu

Cheap drinks :)
On top of their reasonably priced food items, they also offer Set Lunches.

Here's what we ordered...
Mushroom soup for only RM1 (as an add-on for their set lunch)

My White coffee (cold) was quite a big glass and it only cost RM2.50

As mentioned earlier, their drinks are quite value for money. The White coffee (cold) I ordered, only cost RM2.50 per glass and mind you, that was a reasonably big glass, with a medium amount of ice. Unlike most restaurants, which charge more, and give you even more ice than drink, this restaurant really serves cheap, money worthy drinks :)

Next-up, our mains...

Grilled Fish with mushroom sauce

Chicken with thai sauce (top left corner), Grilled fish with black pepper sauce (top right corner)

The fish that they serve is not the usual Dory fish. This place offers Tilapiah fish ie fresh water fish, which is something different.

The overall experience was ok. But I was impressed at the quick service and cheap drinks :)
What do you think? Let me know :)

Kampai @ E-gate

Kampai is a fairly new restaurant that has taken the place of Tao Restaurant which moved to Times square Penang.
We visited this place for lunch the other day.
A simple restaurant, good for families to visit and have a meal on days you're just too lazy to cook, but want a quick meal...

Here's a look-around of how the place looks like...

There are seats with chairs to lean back and tables with just stools...most of the tables with chairs are usually fully taken... so, we got the ones with the stools...

Here's the menu.. they serve set lunches too!

We ordered 2 set lunches... one was the 3 cup chicken RM9.90 ++
3 cup chicken
The other was this Fish Fillet RM9.90 ++
Fish Fillet
The chicken set was nice... but the fish fillet was dry and skimpy... but what'd you expect for only RM9.90 right? All in all, the set lunches are a deal!

They also serve ala charte dishes too! to be eaten with white rice, of course.

Try it out ...  :)

The Body Shop Haul 2013

The Body Shop was having its latest sales for the year 2013, and I managed to get myself two items at 50% off!! (made my buys on the 20th October 2013)

The two items are: The White Musk Libertine by Leona Lewis! Smells really nice... sweet and yet sensual! I've always liked Leona Lewis from the X-factor UK.I also happen to like the nice colourful pink pattern on the bottle :)

The original price for this bottle of 30ml was RM75 and I got it for RM37.50

Next I got was The Body Shop Sakura body lotion... also in a sweet pink. This is my favourite of all! I simply love love love the scent! So fresh and calming!! And guess what! It was originally RM 14.90 and I got it for half off! Super deal!

And it's made in the UK...  :)
