The Appartment @ KLCC

It was last month in November or rather end of October that I visited this restaurant with a friend of mine. I was in KL last month and this is what we ordered.

But first, a little peek around the interior of the restaurant. Which, by the way, is also a bar.

Now, on to the food. We ordered from the pasta selection. I ordered fettucine with duck and pine nuts. It was delicious! I had real pieces of duck meat and the taste from the tomato sauce was pleasently tasty. The pine nuts added an extra crunch to the whole dish.

My friend is a vegetarian, so she ordered spaghetti with potatoes. This one looked & smelled yummy! She was happy with what she had.

Drinks!

Our total bill came to about RM81++ with the drinks and all. I think it was around the KL standard of food. Maybe if I can find the receipt I'll remember to post it up too :)

My Kinokuniya Haul @ KLCC

I spent almost one and a half hours at Kinokuniya's Japanese section just browsing and deciding on which mook to buy and which freebie i'd get.

Here's what I finally decided to buy.

Warning: heavy picture post, up-ahead.

The unveiling of my Mooks & freebies....

I spent over RM100 on just these 2 mooks. And Kinokuniya was nice enough to acknowledge that with a nice paper bag (like!)

SPRING & CECIL McBEE mooks

The Cecil McBee mook cost me RM77.15, but I had a 20% off with another purchase, so it came-up to RM 61.72 ie, the Cecil McBee bag came to that.

SPRING mook however only costs RM39.60. I felt that the quality of the Cabbage&Roses tote was way much better and worth the money too!

Up ahead is the unveiling of my MOOKS and freebies...
Warning: Head picture post!!

I'll start off with the SPRING mook and Cabbage&Roses tote - my absolute favourite of the two

nice packaging

bag was neatly packed into this cardboard box and separately wrapped in plastic

Here's a preview of the bag on the mook's top right-hand corner

the bag neatly folded, straight out of the box

Tada... the actual bag unveiled!

Love the quality of the bag. It's sturdy and has good weight. Not like other super slimsy and light bags.

Spacious interior with a zipper for security. Pocket inside

2 posckets outside, one on the front and another on the back

Next-up in the CECIL McBEE MOOK and bag.

Mook came with a 20% off with a second purchase

Preview of the bag on the mook cover

The bag was in this white box labeled Cecil McBee. And the box was glued to the mook

The folded black CECIL McBEE bag

Over the front, it looks as if the bag was just printed with the words CECIL McBEE in white latex print. The inking wasn't so good as you can see, the ink didn't fully sink into the material. Blotches of white and black spaces seen :(
I was quite disappointed with this bag, because of the quality. It felt as though this bag could easily be passed off as an imitation. :( OK, i know it's way much cheaper than the original bag, but for a price like that, i'd rather save-up for the original.

It's a quilted bag with sponge and all. It's very light-weight and the straps are made from PVC.

The only up-side to the bag is the gold-plated hardware - its gold zipper with signature emblem.

My freebie bags
For those who don't know or have never heard of Cabbage&Roses, well, it's an English brand, selling vintage products from homeware to clothes and fabric. More on their products at their website http://www.cabbagesandroses.com/

As for Cecil McBee, well, it's actually a japanese brand. They sell fashion clothing to luggages to accessories and stationery items. Their webpage is http://www.cecilmcbee.jp/

My Kinokuniya Haul of Japanese Mooks & freebies...

I was in KL recently (from OCt 27-31) , and took the opportunity to buy Japanese mooks from Kinokuniya KLCC.

I took a shot of the current mooks available at Kinokuniya, with their freebies.
Amongst the worthy freebies was this Snoopy tote.

Some ot the other mooks available now!

'More' magazine was giving away a Furla purse with the purchase of their mooks.

All the latest bags that are come with their respective Mooks

The freebies from 'GLOW' mook is a red purse with white polka dots from Harrod's in conjunction with Harrod's 30th year in Japan.

The lastest issue of  "MORE" comes with a LeSportsac tote!!

More on my Mook purchases in the next post.... stay tuned!

Kuala Lumpur (DAY 2)

Today after work, I headed off to KLCC for shopping and dinner.

As usual, the parking in KL is typically 'crazy'! Found a spot here, luckily, near to Isetan! Apparantly, Suria KLCC is undergoing some renovations, so certain places are blocked off temporarily.

Isetan!! er, carpark area .. hehe

Most complicated car-park so far encountered! KLCC

Passed throught Isetan KLCC and came across delightful-looking cakes, sweets & pastries!! They all looked soooo YUMMY! I could practically hear them calling me to the display window. Naturally, out came my Canon S90. This is what i managed to *snap*, *snap* :)

cakes...

more cakes...

even more cakes....!!!

so many choices!

M-A-C-A-R-O-O-N-S!

Finally after having been spoilt for choices, I decided to go for the lovely cakes! I picked two. The White Chocolate Strawberry and the Marjolaine, from Bites Quickie @ Shimbo Katsunori.
Marjoaine on right, White Chocolate Strawberry on left

The carrier box is as cute as the cakes! See bunny ears (circled). The box is actually a CAT!

White Chocolate Strawberry cake

The White Chocolate Strawberry cake was really good! The sourness of the strawberries was not too overpowering thanks to the sweet almost creamy white chocolate!

The Marjolaine cake was equally delicious! It's like a layered cake, only layered with chocolate and cream! sooo good! :)

I went to Kinokinuya KLCC too!
My good self managed to stay away from buying any Mooks this time around, as promised to myself. Well, in all honestly, I really didn't find any mooks offering freebies that took my fancy. I was alittle drawn to the Snoopy mook & bag, though. It did have a zipper to the bag, but in the end, self-control triumphed over over-indulgence. (yay!)

I did however, came across magazines that I did understand with cool freebies at super affordable prices.

Her World's (RM7.00) October issue comes with a free 'herworld' shopping bag. I've been collecting shopping bags lately.. consciously and unconsciously :) It comes in handy when back in Penang, it's 'No Plastic' day everyday! Three cheers for being 'Eco-friendsly'!

Finally, the reason of this actual post is this! NuYou's (RM8.00) October issue freebie - Chloe perfume. It's so cute! The bottle comes with a nozzle head to spray-spray* the 1.2ml sample. Smells good too!

Up-close pic of the Nozzle spray (cool!)

Such a cute bottle 1.2ml Chloe perfume

Free with NUYOU oct issuse
NUYOU also comes with FREE shampoo & sanitary pad

Get it quick before it's all gone... err, well when i went today, the counter lady had like 10 plus more samples la... (ok, no rush..heh)

After flipping through the mag, which is super thick by the way, there were also FREE samples from Head&Shoulders (shampoo) and Laurier (sanitary pad). This mag seems to be loaded for only just RM8! *smiles*
